Swim for Life® Program

The Swim for Life® is a comprehensive swim instruction program that focuses on fundamental swim strokes and skills for learners of all ages and abilities. It also includes teaching learners to be Water Smart®.

There are five modules in the Swim for Life program:

1. Parent & Tot - for parents/caregivers and children up to 3 years of age

2. Preschool - for children 4-5 years

3. Swimmer - for children 6 years and older

4. Adult Swimmer - for people over 16 years

5. Fitness Swimmer - for swimmers of any age who want to improve their overall physical fitness.

Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Registration

Where to Register:

The Swim for Life Program is available at most Saskatchewan municipal aquatic facilities, as well as Regional and provincial parks, summer camps, and private organizations.  Registration is done directly through the facility and/or organization.

Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Registration Chart

Parent & Tot

The Lifesaving Society Parent & Tot program is for children ages 1-3 which structures in-water interaction between parent and child to stress the importance of play developing water-positive attitudes and skills.

Preschool

The Lifesaving Society Preschool program gives children a head start in learning how to swim. Many progressions are used to ensure 3 to 5 year olds are comfortable in the water and have fun developing a foundation of water skills.

Swimmer

The Lifesaving Society Swimmer program ensures children know how to swim and develops solid swimming strokes and skills. Targeted Water Smart® drowning prevention messaging develop lifelong attitudes.

Adult Swimmer

The Lifesaving Society Adult program is designed for adults (16 and over) who may be just starting out or wish to further their strokes. Adults set and achieve their goals as well as learn targeted Water Smart® attitudes. 

Fitness Swimmer

The Lifesaving Society Fitness program is for anyone, of any age, who is looking ot improve their physical fitness and be active for life. Participants set their own goals and use interval training and endurance to complete their workouts. 

Water Smart® Education

As an integral part of the Swim for Life® program, Water Smart® education provides information and experiences that helps participants make safe choices when in, on and around water and ice. Water Smart® Education is available to all and focuses on learning and does not include evaluation; participation is all that is required. The Society provides instructors with a variety of tools to make this drowning prevention education last a lifetime.
