The Board of Directors of the Lifesaving Society of the Saskatchewan Branch uses the Policy Governance model that was implemented in the Branch in 1996. In the Policy Governance structure, the Board is responsible for setting the direction or "Ends" of the organization based on discussions with the ownership and on monitoring the organizations performance towards achieving the Ends. Unlike "traditional" boards, our directors do not hold portfolios and are not responsible for portfolio management. On occasion, Board Members may be asked to assist on a special fundraising drive. All other projects and day to day management is in the hands of the staff under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer.
